First Baptist Church of Whitehall
Belong, Believe, Become
Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy.  For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
James 1:2-4

The Lord is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid?  The Lord protects me from danger - so why should I tremble?
Psalm 27:1

If you need wisdom - if you want to know what God wants you to do - ask Him, and He will gladly tell you.  He will not resent your asking.
James 1:5

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  His faithful love endures forever.
Pslam 136:1

My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.  Your anger can never make things right in God's sight.
James 1:19-20

Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow.  Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you.
Pslam 25:4-5

Just as the body is dead without a spirit, so also faith is dead without good deeds.
James 2:26

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.  Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the great deep.
Psalm 36:5-6

If you are wise and understand God's ways, live a life of steady goodness so that only good deeds will pour forth.  And if you don't brag about the good you do, then you will be truly wise.
James 3:13

How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!  My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Psalm 84:1-2

When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on Him, He will lift you up and give you honor.
James 4:10

I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make Your faithfulness known through all generations.
Psalm 89:1

Newcomers Lunch

If you are new to FBC during the past 2 years, you are invited to a lunch in the gym following the 2nd service on Sunday, May 2.  This is an opportunity to meet some other families, some of the church leadership, get information about church ministries, and ask your questions.

Please sign up on the board in the upper lobby or call the church office to let us know you are attending so that we can have the right amount of lunch for everybody.  We hope to see you there!
